Here are some of the reasons and scenarios that might lead you to favouring a
celebrant…
- Couples and families are wanting more choice and personal elements in their ceremonies. In using an independent celebrant you build a relationship with them and create a ceremony truly bespoke, memorable and perfectly personal to you.
- Independent celebrants aren’t bound by the same constraints humanist celebrants or registrars are, which means that by inviting me to write and conduct your ceremony the sky is the limit!
- You might be getting married abroad with a very limited amount of family/friends, so when you return you want a much bigger celebration for everyone to attend.
- There are no wordings constraints - so with your personal input and my creative writing you can say what you want, exactly how you want to say it.
- There are no time restrictions, so your ceremony can be the length you want it to be.
- You might want an evening ceremony.
- The venue does not need to be licensed; you can hold your ceremony wherever you like; on a beach, in the woods, in your back garden, in a hot air balloon, by a lake - whatever is right for you.
- You can combine, design and incorporate anything and anyone you want. You might want lots of involvement from friends and family, symbolic actions, live music, readings, poetry - the list is endless.
Please note that weddings and civil partnerships led by a celebrant are not legally binding. A wedding celebration ceremony/partnership celebration ceremony must always be held AFTER you have obtained your legal paperwork. This can be easily done at your local register office. A couples and witness only marriage / civil partnership can be done at your local register office for around £50.
If covid has reaffirmed anything, it is the importance of marking milestones and special occasions in a memorable and bespoke fashion that is perfectly personal to you. This is your day and should be done in your unique and personal way.
My job is to guide, advise, craft and deliver a ceremony that could only be about you, your family and your friends.
